In Search of the Potion

This short film was made by a group of children during a Cartoon Workshop in ( la Casa del Barrio Carabanchel, Madrid). Children learned the basics of drawing, color and movement techniques of characters. They created their own story, characters and scenarios in which they recorded this short film.
Cartoon Workshop “Draw your own story”
In collaboration with Casa del Barrio Carabanchel, we conducted a Cartoon Workshop with children aged 6 to 12 years old, during which we created a Puppet Short Film made with cartoons titled “In Search of the Potion”.
Through learning the main painting techniques, basic video recording techniques, and animation short film production, we were able to create a space where children could express their own essence in an artistic and creative way, as well as develop their study and concentration skills.
Through teamwork, we went through different creative phases: from creating a story and a common plot as a way of telling stories that are close to and relevant to the experiences of the children in their daily lives, the children found a space where they could express their concerns and emotions through art.
We consider the workshop to have been a great learning experience as a collective, as we were able to work with these children and learn a lot from them. This entire project has motivated us to further explore the process of creating animated short films collectively with children as a way for them to express their emotions and concerns through art.
